About location
We are in the sole heart of Montenegro. In fact, we couldn’t enjoy a more central location. Risan is located not only in the middle of Kotor Bay with about 5 minutes’ drive to Perast, which is under Unesco protection, 5 minutes to Morinje featuring perhaps the most famous restaurant in the Bay, Catovica Mlini, 25 minutes to Kotor (also a Unesco world heritage site), 30 minutes to Herceg Novi (known as an artist and painters getaway) and Tivat (15 minutes if travelling by boat) with all its attractions, restaurants, and activities of Porto Montenegro. And Now Risan will be a home to the new 220 Yachts Marina with 5-star hotel and Marina Club set to open in May 2019. It is also only few minutes’ drive to the new highway towards Zabljak, which will allow you to comfortably make your winter skiing trip in less than 2 hours. And with Risan history dating back to 4th century BC, it is in fact the oldest settlement in the Bay of Kotor. Amazingly, it is also the last place in the bay where unique waterfront development is still possible.Risan also warmly offers weekend farmers’ market at the piazza, food stores, gas station, pharmacy, even a hospital, which is nice to have, just in case.
